There are several forms of internet marketing which can also be referred to as emarketing or online marketing, to help generate traffic to a website rather it is for a online home business or any major corporation. Such marketing strategies consist of:
l Pay Per Click
l Search Engine Marketing
l Email Marketing
l Affiliate Marketing
Each of these creative method of marketing has its on benefits and down falls. However, in general cases most can bring great success to an online business.
First let's understand what internet marketing truly means- Internet marketing is when one utilize one or all of the tools via to grow and promote their company. These tools are a form of advertisment utilizing the world wide web.
Pay Per Click
The top two major pay per click companies are Yahoo Overture and Google Adwords. Unsuprisingly, Google and Yahoo produce the top levels of pay per click. You can combine the revenue of all other pay per click companies and it still would not compromise Yahoo and Google. This is because they both work with most search engines which gives them better placement. Nevertheless, there are several smaller and maybe less expensive companies that can still get the job done. The only down fall with smaller and less reputable companies is that guaranteed higher rankings within search engines is pretty much not guaranteed. Though, smaller companies are a great starting point for someone with less money to spend on marketing campaigns.
The are a few downfalls with pay per click and the biggest is that not all consumers click on these banner ads. Some may even fine them annoying.
Search Engine Marketing
Search Engine Marketing may be one of the most popular forms of internet marketing. Search Engine Optimization is a sure fire way to get your website noticed in search engines and if your website is search engine ready and friendly there should be know problem reaching the top of every search engine. However, SEM is not to be taken lightly. This is a job for the pro's. For one: it can be an expensive part of your marketing campaign and if the techniques are not implemented correctly not only will your website not be recognized by search engines; but, all your invested money is now down the drain. Make sure to be well educated or hire a professional to handle your SEM/SEO.
Email Marketing
Email Marketing may not be a favorite among most advertiser. Most Email Marketing campaigns may be viewed as spam and not even recognized by its intended target. However, with a great sales pitch and less aggression it can as well be a useful source of internet marketing.
Affiliate Marketing
It is well known that having a web page with sophisticated SEO encryptions will get your page noticed and increase traffic, there is another way as well that has somewhat become a has been.
Affiliate programs are still a great way to get your page noticed. Though now it is playing secondary to Pay Per Clicks which works in a somewhat similar manner. However, there are different types of Affiliate programs some that are free and also work.
Though these few are just an outline of all the many tricks to produce and generate traffic to a online business or any other type of website they are also the marketing strategies that usually cost a pretty penny and a website owner should be fully knowledgeable on how each work in order to make the best of his dollar.

You did it! You finally took that leap of faith and started your own business. You have a website, and you are ready for your first client. The only problem is no one is visiting your site. With so many websites online, how do you make your company stand out? How do you get people to even know your business is alive? Marketing is not just for the major fortune 500 companies. Every business needs a marketing plan. No matter if your company has one or two employees, or one to two thousand employees. In this article we will look at a couple of different ways to market your site.
The first thing you want to do is submit your website to all of the major search engines. This will include Google, MSN, and yahoo. By doing this, it will allow the search engines to crawl your site and index it accordingly in the natural listing. The natural listing is the list of websites that appear on the left hand of the page. Another method would be sign up for sponsored ads, or pay per click ads. This can be done with one or all of the major search engines. You will create an account, and set up a monthly budget. You will then create ads and list of keywords appropriate for your website. When consumers are online searching for a particular product and enter your keyword, your ad will show up in the sponsored ad section. This can be found at the very top, the very bottom, and the right hand side of the page. You pay a set amount every time someone clicks on your ad, which is really a small price to pay for a potential customer.
Email marketing is another great way to gain customers. Make sure you have a sign up box on your website to capture email address of your visitors on your site. There are several companies available to help you with this, and many of them come with a free trial period. Constant contact and I contact are a few good companies to take a look at. It is important that you have the consumer's permission before sending them an email. You do not want to be accused of spam. Not only does spam turn a customer off, it is a quick way to get a bad reputation for your business.
Make sure you get professional business cards with all of your contact information listed. You want to include your business name, address, phone number, fax number, email address, and of course your website. Hand them out as often as possible; during business functions and even at the grocery store. You never know where a potential customer may be. Flyers are another great marketing idea. You can have them printed professionally or if your budget is tight, print a few yourselves. All you need is a color printer, glossy paper, and a software like adobe PageMaker, or Microsoft word. Post your flyers wherever possible; grocery stores may have bulletins, your local library, and your local community center. Once you start to gain customers, it's important to keep in contact with them. It is much more expensive to attract a new customer then it is to have a repeat customer. Send out postcards to keep them abreast of what's new with your company. Let them know when you will have sales and promotions or if you have a new product available. You can even send them a birthday card or a Christmas card.. This will keep you on your clients mind.
If you put all of these methods into action, you will start to see traffic to your website. And of course, the more traffic to your website, the greater chance you have of making that sale!

Why do a lot of marketers resort to article marketing today? The reason is simple: They would like to establish their credibility and expertise while building links for their websites using the most trusted and cost-effective marketing tool online.
Here are the 4 high impact secrets to breakthrough with article marketing:
1. Identify your potential audience. Are you writing for men, women, or both? What do they do for a living? What information will they find useful in their lives? What writing style and terms they can easily relate to? The more you know about the people to whom you are writing for, the more effective you will become in creating content that is highly targeted to their needs and demands.
2. Focus on keywords. Each of your articles must be written around a single main keyword that is highly relevant to your chosen niche. You have to use this keyword at least 6 times on your content to make your articles optimized and highly searchable online.
3. Choose topics that are related to your products. The reason for this is very simple: if you want to drive interested people to your website, you have to talk about their needs that can only be addressed by your products. That means, if you are selling diet pills, writing about watches will not give you potential clients.
4. Your articles must be publisher-friendly. To increase the chances of your articles being posted online, make sure that they conform to the publishers' universal guidelines which are: your articles must not contain hyperlinks, blatant advertisements, and inappropriate content. They must also be well-written, content-rich, useful, targeted to the needs of your target market, and direct to the point. When you are able to incorporate all these elements on your articles, you will not only please the publishers but the online users as well.

One of the major factors in website assessment criteria is the role of search engine ranking of your site compared to your competitors'. While reviewing a website, higher search engine ranking for a webpage's keyword is the important factor that brings a lot of traffic to that web site.
This website assessment criteria is one of the first elements you have to find out when reviewing a website. It'll show the way to you for further website optimization.
What's the Search Engine Ranking of Your Website?
Suppose you're searching a word or phrase in a search engine. When the Search Engine Result Page (SERP) appears, you'll see 10 results in each page. They're the web sites that have ranked highest for the searched term you've typed. This is the general method for discovering the search engine ranking of web sites for the searched term.
These days when we talk about the search engine ranking of a website in search engines, usually Google is in our minds. As the major part of searching in most of the countries is done through Google, this search engine plays a vital role in bringing success to you. Of course, you have to see if this is the case with your e-business or not.
Google Page Rank (PR) System
To learn about the page rank of a website in Google, the easiest way is to download and install the Google Toolbar on your web browser. As soon as you enter a website's URL, the Google ranking indicator shows its PR on a 0-10 scale. It won't count that much in reviewing a website based on our website assessment criteria list.
Let's not be too overwhelmed by Google PR system for our Internet business. What matters the most is to rank high at SERPs for the key phrases we've selected. Having 100 targeted visitors per day and lower Google PR is much better than having 1000 visitors per day who visit our sites for various other reasons.
Search Engine Ranking Based on Keywords
You compete with other websites over certain keywords or key phrases. The website that appears higher in SERPs enjoys higher ranks (visibility) for them. Obviously, higher ranking leads to more influx of targeted visitors to your site.
High visibility is a factor every website owner likes to achieve. The important question is where you'd like to have such visibility? In which search engines? For which keywords?
No wonder why there's so much effort and competition on achieving a position on the first (two) page of SERPs. Your entire attempt is toward gaining more targeted traffic. Such traffic brings the kind of visitors you're looking for " they should be easily made into customers if your content is created properly. If you're on the third or forth page of the SERPs, there'll hardly be any chance to be found.
In summary, you should select your keywords or key phrases very carefully and put a lot of efforts gaining higher search engine ranking for them. This website assessment criteria helps you realize where you stand compared to your competitors. Knowing this, you should find ways to surpass them.
Keyword Selection
Website Assessment should be performed mainly based on the competition you have with your fellow websites over certain keywords or key phrases. You'll have to use a set of relevant keywords on the your webpages and optimize them for those keywords.
Every website is focused on its niche market. It's likely that your competitor doesn't concentrate exactly on the same niche market that you are. Despite this, when it occupies a higher search engine ranking for your keywords, it'll be considered competition.
Every optimized website has targeted certain keywords through optimization process. Since search engine ranking, as one of the website assessment criteria, works based on the keywords you use, you're seriously in need of a well-managed Keyword Discovery OR KeyPhrase Research.
It's not recommended to select the keywords that receive lots of competition and searches, because it will put you in a difficult position. It's usually recommended to begin with the key phrases more specific to your niche. Although less people search for those phrases, they'll be the same people you're looking for. Here, less traffic is better than larger number of visitors who won't take any action at your site.
Taking Actions for Higher Search Engine Ranking
After you've realized how tough or easy the competition is over your choice key phrases, you'll need to take the following steps:
* Create new content on your site centered around the newly-selected key phrases,
* Optimize the new pages for your key phrases ,
* Submit those new pages to the major search engines, and
* Try to gain inbound link to them from other websites using various methods.
The last but not the least, the process of reviewing a website should be an ongoing effort performed alongside with the above measures to see how your progress is. It takes time and patience, but you'll see the result if you pay due attention to search engine ranking as one of the most important website assessment criteria.

Dear Creative Copywriting Maven,
I'm confused. I own a business and have applied various marketing methods, both online and offline. Now I'm hearing buzz about article marketing. What is article marketing and why in the world should I care about marketing with articles?
Signed, A Confused Business Owner
Dear Confused,
Article marketing is simply the process of writing articles (or hiring a writer to compose them for you), adding a bio and link back to your website at the end of the articles, then submitting them to article directories online.
Submitting your articles to directories, like www.ezinearticles.com is an excellent (and easy!) way to build links back to your website. Plus you get targeted traffic because you're writing articles that will be read by your target market.
The only thing catch to this is that you have to make a committed effort to marketing like this for the long-term. You can't submit a handful of articles, then quit and expect to keep getting traffic. You need to create a plan for writing & submitting a specific number of articles every week. The more articles you add, the more traffic you'll see from them.
You can also give your articles away for free to be used in other newsletters, websites, etc, as long as your bio and website link stay in tact and clickable. Article marketing is an easy way to get free advertising that many people don't know about and don't make use of.

Short of Branding your backside and making it visible to the media, what can you do to get your articles noticed and your site busy? Well, branding, for starters.
I am amazed at the number of articles I read that are dry, lackluster, boring to read, and essentially have nothing to say. Not that I haven’t written my share of boring Articles that didn‘t Market anything but a good night‘s sleep, but … the score is to write more and more Articles that bring traffic home, because your Article Marketing skills are improving.
Just for kicks here, I’m going to pick apart an email I just received asking about “Article Marketing and How to Get Noticed” and answer some questions from a client, via this article. Hopefully, this Strategy Article will shed some light on this process and make Article Marketing Strategies a bit clearer than mud (at the very least).
1. How do you GRAB ATTENTION?
Keywords in title. Everyone pulls keyword searches and snaps up those top keyword articles from the search result, so you need to “Be there”. Fill your articles with keywords and effectively market your topic.
Attention grabbers in title. Using words that grab your reader and hold him hostage until he reads more. (simple, amazing, free, discount, secret - these are hostage holders) A few Attention Grabbing words in a Keyword Rich Title provide effective ‘get notices techniques’.
Teaser intros bring ‘em in. Put just enough keyword rich information in your ‘intro’ to capture their attention, but not enough to give them get away power. Don’t tell them the secret, just remind them you have a secret to share. Questions are effective here.
2. Get your Articles Picked-up and Published.
Relevant content. Be sure you pack your articles with actual informative content relevant to the keywords you selected. Keep the content related to the title and follow through with keyword rich informative content. Use bullets, bold, italics to identify parts, and be consistent. Use keywords throughout your Article Marketing Process to keep the reader interested.
Controversial ideas. Be bold. Write a statement using keyword dense commentary that bucks the system. If you agree with the premise, make it a question, but capture your reader with a controversial viewpoint. Put your opinion in a statement that gets you noticed, and puts your name up there. Don’t crack heads with your viewpoint, but do get noticed. Milk Toast never did anything for anyone other than bore them to sleep on Saturday night.
3. Create a template to Simplify the Writing Process.
Introduce your idea. Give a summary of introduction to your Article content with the introductory paragraph. This should invite them to read the Article subtitles and look for more relevant content within the form of the Article.
Use Bullets & Subtitles. Make your points with keyword rich bullets and subtitles to keep the article succinct and to the point. One or two paragraphs under each bullet or subtitle make the article worth reading.
Conclusions Rock. End your article with a conclusion that tells the reader what you want them to do. Give them an option. Tell them to take action.
4. Maximize Keyword Count.
Edit for keyword optimization. After you’re done with your article, go back and edit to add in keywords. The more keyword density your article has, the better your article will sell or promote. Article Marketing is all about keyword density, search engine optimization, and maximizing the recognition factor of your website, brand, and topic. The more keyword density you use in the articles, the more your ‘brand’ will be recognized and your site specifically will be searched for online.
5. Create an Author Box with Linking Power.
Power-charge your Author Box. Put specific keyword dense items in your author box every time and it will impress your reader. Your name, your website, and a call to do something.
Call to action. Putting a call to action in your author box gives the reader direction. “Sign up for my ezine.” “Visit my website.” “Order my ebook.” These are directions that hypnotize the reader to action. They give the reader directions, and people follow directions.
Name and Website. These are “duh” inclusions. Without them, your reader doesn’t know who you are, or where you are, and lacks important information about where the article came from. Give your articles credibility and brand them with your identity.
These Kick Butt Article Marketing Strategies bring traffic to your site because they work every time, all the time. Ask any Article Marketer about their process or strategy and they will tell you “Be consistent”, brand your niche and effectively use your brand in every article.
Whatever strategy you choose to use with Article Marketing, make it your own, use it deliberately and consistently and you will achieve your goals.

With information technology on the rise and gaining relevance in the world today, article marketing has become a significant tool to promote businesses on the Internet. While it is well-known that articles make consumers understand a product better, a well-written article can be one of the main reasons why any product sells. These days, article marketing is so advanced that it has become the foremost advertising strategy for many online businesses.
Central to the effectiveness of article marketing is the implementation of Search Engine Optimization (SEO). The primary function of this form of article writing is to achieve prominent rankings on the search engines by utilizing keywords which are popular among Internet users. When a user enters a search term which is identical to your keyword, the web page of your article will be displayed as a search result. With effective SEO strategies, you can rank among the top search results and benefit from a steady flow of incoming traffic, which will ultimately lead to increased sales.
Due to the fact that SEO article writing involves a great deal of research and expertise, most website owners prefer to employ SEO experts to manage their web content. These specialized professionals will provide you keyword-rich articles that will dramatically improve the visibility of your website and win customers over with their convincing content. SEO article marketing is such a proven success in the world of online business that many website owners are willing to hire the services of top SEO experts to help them launch their businesses into greater heights of profitability.
Other than its overall contribution to the betterment of sales, article marketing also brings professionalism and prestige to your website. With comprehensive articles that offer expert information about your products, your website will be widely regarded as an authoritative entity. It will assume a position as the favored destination for consumers seeking specialized knowledge pertaining to your products. As your reputation grows, your brand will be established as a trusted name in the business and this will in turn translate to a long-term influx of web traffic.
Compared to other forms of online advertisements which incur quite a substantial amount of financial investment, article marketing is basically free advertising. Since your articles are included in the information base of search engines, they will automatically show up whenever a search term coincides with one or few of their keywords. In a way, an article is a living advertisement implemented on the Internet and it grows in recognition from time to time, without you having to pay extra for each and every appearance. Web owners who understand the full potential of article marketing will also post their articles in directories and ezines to boost their chances of drawing more visitors to their websites.
As the Internet continues to extend its influence into our livelihoods, article marketing will prevail as the most important means to distribute information, whether for a product or a mere matter of general interest. There is no website that can communicate effectively without web content, and articles are indeed the most significant bridge between webmasters and users. By adopting an elaborate article marketing strategy, you can be sure that your business will achieve new heights of success.

I am sure that if you are reading that headline then it may have caught your attention. In fact what I am about to say may offend a lot of people, but this is the brutal truth.
Article marketing is a long term strategy. You will not get results overnight. Many people attempt this expecting to get rich the following month. It is very important to understand that to build a successful long term internet business that this takes time. Using articles to build your brand name up so that you can sell more products is a time intensive strategy. However, once people start seeing your name they will start thinking of you as an expert in that specific market. When the time comes to buy a product they will think of you first.
If you are thinking of getting rich overnight with article marketing I seriously suggest that you look for another method of promotion. There will be a point in your business you may be doing everything right, but not achieving any success. This is the normal process. First start driving traffic to your squeeze pages and then you need to make sure that your sales funnel converts visitors into paid customers.
Basically, article marketing is a numbers game. The more articles that you have out there the higher the number of subscribers and volume of sales. You need at least hundreds and even thousands of articles to be successful. If you were thinking that you only need to write 20 articles and then you are going to be rich I am very sorry to disappoint you.
Finally, you can generate a lot of quality targeted traffic to your website. However, it will take a lot of work on your side as this is no magic bullet.
Are you really interested in driving massive traffic to your website?

It is no secret that article marketing is currently the best method to promote your business, build and strengthen your online credibility, and increase your sales potential.
1. Offer useful information. The only reason why people will read your articles is to get useful information that is relevant to their problems and areas of interest. So make sure that your articles are content-rich and highly targeted to the needs and demands of your readers.
2. Keep your articles short. Remember, the audiences that you serve have short attention spans. By keeping your articles short, you will be able to hold your readers' attention and get your message across as quickly as possible.
3. Communicate the benefits of your article on your title. People would not read your article if they feel that it will be just waste of their time. But if you tell them upfront that they will be getting something in return, they will most likely to consider investing their precious time and read your articles.
4. Submit your articles to highly visited publishing sites. To give your articles the exposure they deserve, submit them on article submission sites that have impressive page ranking and steady traffic. These are the sites that can increase the chances of your articles being read, picked up, and republished.
5. Use your articles in publishing your ezine. If you are leaning towards building a good, trusting relationship with your potential clients, you need to establish a constant communication by sending them valuable information from time to time. Don't wait for them to go online and search for your articles, instead send them right into their inbox.

One of the most profitable ways of online income, as many have found, is article marketing. Publishers will definitely want to use your domain for their benefits leading to high traffics for you, if your articles are enjoyable and provide good value.
Article marketing can yield huge benefits for both the publisher and the marketer. As a publisher, your main aim is to keep fresh articles coming with the demand to ensure future success. The loyalty and branding could be available before hand. To meet this demand, a publisher freely use any author's content as long as the resource list section is in place. This would mean that the links provided would eventually give the credit to the actual author.
The main aims for a marketer is to do both, increase his market creditability as well as to float the links to as many people as possible. He can create an endless stream of articles using which affiliate items can be promoted through your resource box. You can however, yield more benefits by developing a targeted list.
The commission earned by merely directing traffic to another website is small and temporary. One can open an endless list of profitable routes by capturing the name and email address of a user through a freebie subscription box.
Article marketing is not necessarily a painstaking task. One can buy private labels rights articles and then pass them ahead as their own and with their own hyperlinks, by making only subtle changes.
Articles posted on some of the well-known article websites and directories do not have to be very lengthy. They can merely be a few hundred words. They must however, prove to be worthy for the publisher by containing valuable text that makes the reader think positively in favor of both the marketer and the publisher!

Article marketing is of course the process of writing informative articles about your niche topic, adding a link to your web site or squeeze page to the article, and submitting the articles to the various online article directories.
One of the most important things to realize is that you should choose a method of article submission are you attempting to create immediate direct traffic by writing a lot of articles and submitting them to the highest-traffic article directories, or are you more interested in writing a small number of articles and submitting them to a large number of article directories, for the purpose of creating massive numbers of backlinks and subsequently search engine traffic to your web site.
So what are your steps to success with article marketing?
1) You must be able to set goals and then follow them through, regardless of whether or not you feel like it. You see, if you want to write 200 articles this month, but do not set a schedule, or require yourself to write when you do not feel well, you will not get to 200 articles this month. If you agree with yourself that you are going to write 10 articles per day, 20 days a month, you have to follow through on that. I find that as simple as this is, it is the number one limiting activity that people do to fail at article marketing.
2) You must learn to write articles quickly. Follow this format: type up 10 article titles before you begin, then under each article title, type in 3 supporting points for each title. Next, all you have to do is teach of explain each of the supporting points, then add an introduction to each one, and presto! you have a set of ten articles.

Sean Mize is a full time internet marketer who has written over 1200 articles in print and 9 published ebooks.
It is well known that major search engines rank your website based on the quantity and quality of links that are pointing to your site. Webmasters use various methods to increase their website's link popularity. One of them is using text links ads. These are ads that are very similar to newspaper's ads, without graphics. You just write a headline with a short description and include the link to your website. Visitors clicking on them are directly sent to your site. And obviously, the search engine spiders visiting those websites follow your link. And because these are one-way links (also called backlinks), they have a higher weight in the search engines's algorithms which determine your website's ranking.
The most important part of this method is to choose the website where you put your link. For obvious reasons, most webmasters prefer to place their links on highly ranked websites or directories. The higher the Pagerank of the website offering you a one-way link, the better for you. In fact, the most effective quality links are those placed on PR5 websites or higher.
Some webmasters buy text links at a monthly basis, what the advertisers call recurring billing. You place your inbound link on a high ranked website and you pay an agreed fee every month. This method has the disadvantage of tying you up for long i.e. if you don't pay your monthly bill, your link will be removed and you'll no longer have the benefit you were looking for in the first place: having a quality link pointing to your website from a high ranked website.
But there is nowadays another interesting alternative: some text links directories offer the possibility of placing your link with a one-off fee. You then have a permanent link to your website. No recurring billing! No link removal! And the most exciting feature is that those one-off payments can costs as little as $1-$5. This is a cheap and highly cost-effective method of increasing your popularity. Usually, webmasters who want their website to appear at prominent places, such as the homepage or the top of a category page, have to bid more than the others. They decide what they want to pay in order to appear where they want. A fair enough system, in my opinion.
How to identify such websites? Do as I did. Use Google. You can make a search via Google, using keywords such as -buy cheap text links- for example.
I hope that this article will be useful to those new webmasters who want to increase their link popularity.
Sim Mus is the owner of a making money online via internet marketing website. He recently discovered a PR5 - Web Directory specialised in high quality and cheap text links ads and is as always more than happy to share his experience as internet marketer.
What gives you a high ranking in the search engine? Well, assuming you've completed step one (i.e. you've optimized your website for your target keywords), there's really only one thing left to do: Get lots of links pointing to your site.
Links are the single most important aspect of SEO. Generally speaking, the more links you have back to your site, the higher your ranking will be.
Of course, nothing is ever that simple. There are links, and there are links. Before launching into a discussion about the best ways to generate links (I'll address that issue in a post in the near future), lets first discuss what kind of links you should be trying to generate.
When deciding whether to display your site in its search results, a search engine looks to see if youre part of a credible network of related sites. This means that the ideal kind of links are those that:
When a search engine sees a link which satisfies most or all of these conditions, it says, Hey, this site must be credible and important, because others in the same industry are pointing to it.
So now that you know what kind of links you're after, you just need to figure out how to get them. Stay tuned for more info on this...

One of the best ways is to take your articles and create a multi-day ecourse. It is a universally understood tenet of marketing that you need to get your message or offer in front of someone anywhere between five to eight times in order for them to know, like and trust you and to buy from you.
So you can let potential customers read one of your articles one time, or you can let the read many of your articles or parts of one article over several days. Let's see - get one shot at your prospect or get many shots at your prospect. An easy call when you look at it in this way.
If you have written a seven tips article, all you have to do is make each tip one section of the multi-day ecourse. You can offer it for free and include links to various offers, or you can charge for your ecourse like my multiple streams of article income ecourse.

From Jeff Herring - The Article Guy
In my regular scouring of the internet marketing do's and don'ts, I come across an endless sea of opinions, many of them contradictory of other opinions by internet marketers and gurus. You may have seen something like what I'm referring to. Some internet marketers will tell you "Adsense is dead", while others assure you that "There's still life in Adsense and other Pay Per Click programs!" One of the topics that has come to my attention recently is regarding the use of articles to raise the search ranking of your website and do some honest to goodness SEO (Search Engine Optimization).
There are several aspects to SEO, of course. This article takes a look at articles and how their content can be used to your advantage to build your website popularity.
One opinion I've seen time and time again that has been trumpeted by scores of marketers, and that has never been contested, is "search engines love content." I'll go a step further and say, "Search engines love original content."
If you want to see what I'm referring to, do a search under "article sites" and see how many directories you pull up. Article directories are out there in droves, keeping a large supply of articles that can be (and usually are) used by people publishing ezines or adding content to their sites. I've submitted articles to several of these sites for free. Here's why submitting articles is a win-win situation:
Win for you: You get to include a "resource box" with your article, which can be a link back to your website (or the affiliate site you are promoting)
Win for them: ezine publishers need to come up with articles every day/week/month. Webmasters want their proverbial "regularly updated content." Article directories give them the ammo they need to keep their updates regular and their content fresh.
Of course, this does mean you will need to write. If you like to write already, great - get started! If writing is about as fun for you as pulling your teeth with rusty jumper cables, all is not lost. My suggestion is to look at sites like Elance (www.elance.com) and look for writers on the topic you want to cover. Elance has a bidding system, which allows you to post a project for bids and let prospective writers bid on it. Once you have your article written, you will need to submit it. There is an endless array of article sites on the web. You can also take a shortcut by trying an article submission tool.
Something else to remember - SEO will take awhile. Even if you have submitted articles, you must give them time to make their way into the hands of those people who will publish them on sites and on the web.
So there you have it - articles help you promote your web site the write way!

List building is considered one of the best internet marketing methods not only in traffic generation but most importantly in increasing the sales potential of every webmaster.
1. Establish your credibility. People will not easily give away their contact information to strangers as they are mostly afraid to get spammed. Before they subscribe to any list, most of them would like to make sure that the marketer is trustworthy. In order to obtain their trust, you must be a great, reliable source of information and have strong online presence.
2. Publish your ezine. This is one of the best ways to showcase your expertise so your potential readers will see you as an authority on your chosen field. When you project yourself as someone who knows the ins and outs of the industry, you will surely be able to develop a strong following in no time.
3. Make use of squeeze page. To be effective in this technique, you have to convince online users first that the content of your website is really impressive. You can easily do so by posting great articles on publishing sites and driving your readers to your squeeze page. If your articles are well-written and informative, online users will surely won't mind giving out their contact information to gain access to your site.
4. Make it easier for online users to subscribe to your list. Post a link of your opt-in page to your website so your visitors will have an easy access to it. Present your potential registrants with a short form asking only for essential information. The key here is to make the process hassle-free to your future subscribers so they will be enticed to join your list.

I am sure that by now you must have heard over and over again from most successful internet marketers that you need to build an opt in list to be successful on the internet. However, building an opt in list is easy. All you need to do is send all your traffic to a squeeze page. Make sure that you have a killer headline with some bullets that have compelling reasons to join your newsletter or download a free report.
When I first started building a list getting the subscribers was the easy part. However, when I realized that I actually needed to monetize my list I realized that this was a lot trickier than previously thought.
In this article I would like to go through some common mistakes that I made and will hopefully benefit you in your list building efforts.
1) I immediately started to sell my prospects
When I first started building a list I immediately sent my prospects email offers. However what I soon discovered is that by first having an email course of at least 5 days my prospects were more responsive to my offers later on. This also reduced the unsubscribe rate from my newsletter as I had given value first.
2) Write a killer subject line
I learnt this mistake the very hard way. I was emailing my list and wondered why I was not getting much of a response. I added a html image to my email so that I could track if the image was displayed which meant that the email was opened. By writing blind and interesting subject lines my response rate tripled. If you mention what your email is about then it is unlikely that your subscriber will actually read your email.
3) Include your link a few times to improve the response rate
My first few emails that I wrote I only included the link once right at the bottom. Very few people actually clicked on it. What I found was by having a concise url that is easy to recognize and repeating this link three to five times in my email increased my click through rate significantly. If the subscriber is not actually clicking through to your sales page then it will be very unlikely that you will make any sales.

Mark Abrahams is a full time internet marketer who has helped others to earn a living online.
Don't know how to market your business? I didn't know anything about marketing when I started my first home-based business in 1990. It took a lot of time, and much trial and error, for me to find a simple, easy and effective way to market my business. In fact, I have been guilty of every one of these marketing blunders.
Let me share with you some simple marketing strategies that will help drive your business to success faster and sidestep some of the pitfalls that slowed my progress over the years.
Mistake #1 -- You don't have a marketing plan or strategy.
You need a marketing plan to help you stay focused and take action to get the word out about your business. One simple marketing strategy in your plan could be to send a helpful tip or inspirational quote in an email to each of your clients every Monday to start their week off thinking about you.
Mistake #2 -- You haven't chosen a niche or specialty.
If you have many topics that you are knowledgeable about it can be difficult to narrow your focus on just one. However, if you concentrate on one main skill or specialized field it becomes much easier to create a marketing campaign and memorable business brand. Accentuate the part you really enjoy doing and love the most.
Mistake #3 -- You don't know your target audience.
Wanting to serve anyone and everyone is perfectly natural when you first start out in business. Don't let that fool you. Knowing who you like and want to work with makes it easier to identify and meet their needs so that you can capture their attention.
Mistake #4 -- You don't attract new clients.
Thinking that your current clients are keeping you busy is shortsighted. The situation can change without any warning and catch you off guard. Never stop marketing yourself! Keep you name out there in the marketplace by writing articles and press releases at the very least.
Mistake #5 -- You don't follow up with clients and prospects.
The success of your business depends upon following up and building relationships with leads and prospects. Without an effective system to follow-up with clients and leads you can lose clients. The solution: create or purchase a contact management system.
Mistake #6 -- You don't have an email signature.
In today's global economy, email communication has become essential for transacting business around the world: making the email signature a dynamic (and free!) marketing tool. An email signature lets your clients and prospects know how to get in touch with you, and it tells people who you are and what you do. An email signature can even be used to promote an event, special offer, or new product.
Mistake #7 -- You don't publish a newsletter, or not consistently.
Publishing a weekly or monthly electronic newsletter is an easy way to regularly keep in contact with clients, and follow up and build relationships with prospects. There are plenty of inexpensive and easy to use electronic newsletter providers available on the internet.
Mistake #8 -- You don't use low cost or free internet marketing strategies.
There are many ways to build a business platform, attract an audience and the media and drive traffic to your door. Four simple and inexpensive ways are article marketing, blogging, email campaigns and leading teleclasses.
Mistake #9 -- You don't have a website opt-in box.
One of the most important goals of your website is to collect qualified leads. This is done by offering visitors the opportunity to sign up for a free newsletter or some other useful item. When the visitor signs up, you have their name and email address and permission to contact them again to inform them about your products and services.
Mistake #10 -- You don't have a free promotional "gift" to give away.
I am not talking about t-shirts or fancy pens with your business logo on them. I am referring to intellectual property you create such as a report, tip sheet, newsletter or other relevant, practical and useful document(s) you want to share with your clients, and leads. You can give them away at speaking engagements or on your website in exchange for their name and email address.
Taking the time to put each of these simple strategies into place will go a long way toward creating the successful business you deserve.

Directory submission is a key to marketing your online presence, getting traffic and improving search engine results.
When it comes to cost, directories fall into 3 basic categories. There are free directories, directories that charge a one time fee and directories that charge an annual fee. What are the differences between them?
Free directories are just that, you can get listed in them for free. The one question I always get is this. Is it worth it to submit to the free directories? I would say yes with some qualifications.
Make sure that the free directory you are submitting to actually reviews the site submissions. You do not want your site listed next to a bunch of spam sites or worse yet, a site that may not be family friendly.
Watch for free directories that are filled with adsense. Some directory owners will set up free directories just to get the traffic to their site so they can make money off pay per click and banner ads. Dont fall for this game. If your site is of quality, you dont want it listed next to adsense ads you have no control over.
Get listed early in the free directories life cycle. Before the directory owner loses interest in a directory that has no revenue stream and gets hundreds of submissions a day. Once you are past the initial opening phase of the directory, it could take months for an approval into the directory.
Knowing this about free directories the best approach to take with submitting to them is. Submit to as many as you possibly can that fit the guidelines. If you can, hire a third party to do this for you as submitting to hundreds of free directories to find that one diamond in the rough can be overwhelming. Not to mention very time consuming.
One time fee directories are another type of directory. These directories charge a one time fee for a site review and admission to the directory. This is a far better choice than free directories. To get an idea, having a link in one well promoted and maintained paid directory would be equal to having a link in one hundred free directories.
There are several reasons to go with paid directories over free directories. First ask yourself why you want to be in the directory in the first place. The answer that I always get is you want marketing exposure that can drive traffic to your site and help improve your search engine results.
To accomplish any of these the directory has to market and advertise. How will a directory do that if it is free? How can it help you achieve your marketing goals when it does not have the financial ability to do so? Expecting a free directory to deliver the results you want for your business is flawed logic. Quality paid directories also review each submission. Thus ensuring it meets the directories guidelines for acceptance. They are able to edit descriptions and text prior to listing prior to listing.
Paid directories have the financial ability to build links and traffic to the directory. By doing that they pass page rank and traffic to the sites listed within the directory. Thus they are helping to build and make your business successful.
The last type of directory we will cover is the Directory that does annual reviews, for which there is a fee. When it comes to finding a directory that is committed to helping you achieve your goals with internet marketing, this is a huge sign youre dealing with a premium quality directory.
Think about it. You want a directory that will help improve your search results and send you traffic in an ongoing basis. When a directory charges $20 as a one time fee to be included in it, logic dictates that the $20 will only last so long. It will only buy so much in the way of marketing for the directory and when it runs out what then? Then the quality of the directory will begin to decline.
When a directory requires annual reviews it benefits the listings within the directory in additional ways.
First it helps keep out sites of low quality. Sites can change and change quickly. One may meet quality standards and be accepted into the directory, but what happens if after acceptance the site changes its content and no longer fits within the directory? Annual site reviews help to curb this problem.
The premium directory also has a flow of revenue for ongoing promotion. It continues to build traffic and strength which is passed on to improve the traffic and search engine strength of your website.
Annual directory reviews are a way to measure a directorys ongoing commitment to achieving the goals of their listings. It is a sign of a high quality premium directory that is committed to you and your long term goals.

One of the most time and cost effective methods of Search Engine Optimization is though the use of directory submissions. When online businesses want a way to effectively promote and gain exposure for their websites they turn to quality web directories. There are many other articles and blog posts all across the internet documenting the benefits of link popularity and the use of web directories. By submitting sites for review at quality web directories you can obtain relevant, quality inbound links to your website to help improve search engine results and traffic to your website.
What a quality directory does is human reviews of available websites to determine their quality and if the site meets directory standards list them in the most relevant category to the site content. When directory visitors are searching for sites based on content they will find relevant sites and be directed to them. This will result in direct traffic to your website. This results in increasing your sites reach and exposure to internet traffic.
Other benefits of quality directory submission include link building benefits.
When you increase the number of quality inbound links to your website through directory submissions, it opens more doorways to your website for traffic to find you. This traffic is more relevant which means higher conversion rates along with more visibility.
The increased link popularity you achieve with quality directory submissions will also help you gain better search engine positioning for relevant searches. Directories of quality are frequently crawled by all major search engines which will quickly find your link, follow it and index your site. By having a listing there your site will gain exposure to all the major search engines. Increasing the visibility of your site to search engines on quality directories will mean more frequent indexing of your site to pick up new content and improve search result rankings for those relevant terms.
If you use relevant keywords in your link text without spamming your link building efforts can be amplified as the keywords within the links will be seen as relevant to the content of your site and result in higher rankings for those relevant searches. That means the traffic that is directed towards your website will be targeted towards your sites content.
That means by submitting your website to quality web directories you can brand your websites products and services by using your brand in the anchor text of your links. Just like with targeting keywords, this targets and builds company and brand awareness to your clients and customers.
One thing you should be aware of when conducting a directory submission campaign is that there are many different types of web directories available on the internet. Most are of a lesser quality which will limit the results you achieve with them. If you focus on well maintained and promoted directories you will achieve much better and quicker results with less effort. We all know that in this day and age time is a valuable commodity. Just below you will find a link to another article that can further explain the different types of directories and how to tell quality.
You can learn more about the Different Types of Directories and the Distinctive Traits of a Quality Web Directory in these articles brought to you by the Authority Web Directory.
Link building. It's the topic that just won't go away; the ultimate SEO time zapper. And as search engines move towards more eloquent and sophisticated link analysis algorithms, link building will continue to be to be a main stay in SEO.
But with such enormous emphasis placed on quality backlinks, and with so little hours in a day to acquire them, how can webmasters optimize their link building to get more links in less time?
The answer lies in Pareto's Principle: By observing the 80/20 rule.
Here's why.
Many "high returning" link building methods that you hear about within the expert SEO-sphere are also high risk; especially for a novice or intermediate SEO. A high quality, relevant article takes time to concept and to write. If submission at your channel of choice doesn't pan out the way you hoped, (say it gets buried on Digg) your options become severely limited. Meaning, you've now got duplicate content on your hands, and no one wants duplicate content. If not risky, distributing content manually over multiple channels is, at best, time consuming.
Other examples of link building time zappers are surprisingly some of the most tried and true methods: Forum marketing and directory submission.
While these are totally viable and effective link building methods, (assuming you choose reputable and high PR forums and directories) they also can yield diminishing returns. The value of a few forum and directory links just isn't justified by the time spent manually acquiring them, time that could be spend on methods charged with producing 80% of your returns.
So where, then, should you concentrate this magical 20%?
Syndication.
Let me say this again:
Syndication.
I'm not talking about just creating an RSS feed for your blog. I'm talking about transferring a good portion of all of that link building time and energy into time spent understanding, targeting and leveraging a good content syndication strategy.
Understand that RSS is compounding function; one that can increase your backlinks exponentially. An RSS link is the link that keeps on linking... so of course you want to maximize its effectiveness. You can do just that by following a few simple guidelines that, when applied within the context of the 80/20 rule, will gain you more backlinks in less time:
First, identify the audiences you should be reaching, and then maximize that reach. For example, encourage your customers to receive updates about your business from a "what's new" section of your website or reach your peers and top business referrers by offering a feed from your industry related blog.
Leverage your resources by expanding your web properties and setting up feeds for them. Cross link accordingly and point back to your main domain within some your feed items. Identify new topics and resources appropriate for content syndication, and research sites that pull content from your genre (so you can submit your content there!)
Leverage other people's resources.
Wanna be picked up by Google News? Submit your article to a site that's syndicated with them. It's surprisingly easy to get published with some of these sources (americanchronical.com is one example,) and if you're picked up you could gain backlinks in massive quantities, not to mention invaluable exposure.
Optimize, promote and track your feeds.
Make sure your RSS systems automatically notifies RSS search engines and news feeds of your recent content adds. SEO your feed templates and create a linking strategy to and from your feed content. The importance of enlisting subscribers from your website can not be overestimated; continually experiment with new ways to call your visitors to action within your blog content and create metrics to understand how your efforts are working to achieve maximum subscribers.
RSS aside, the 80/20 rule applies to all areas link building, not just syndication. A theoretical formula for approaching a link building strategy from Pareto's perspective can be reduced to this:
20% of your link building time will result in 80% of your links. It therefore stands to reason that figuring out what that 20% winner is, and then expanding it, is the most viable means of getting more back links in less time.

Article Marketing is one of the best ways to generate traffic to a website. However, the most difficult part is coming up with a topic for an article on a regular basis. That's where most people stop and don't get things done. Whether you're writing the articles yourself or hiring a ghostwriter to do it for you, you must know what topics you're going to write about. Here's how you can overcome the "writer's block".
The secret is to read information on various sources and keep a note of any ideas you have for writing an article. There are thousands of resources on the internet which you can read on your niche.
To find existing content, you can visit several ezine directories which are well respected. EzineArticles and GoArticles for instance have quality articles which you can read on. Technorati is also an excellent resource for getting ideas and learning about your niche. It has the latest updates of blogs which you can search for within your market.
Read through many of the article titles and choose the ones you like. Then think of the titles for your own articles and write them down using the notepad program in Windows.
If you spend an hour or two doing this exercise, you'll have over 50 topics to write about by looking through the article title and the ideas you have written for each title.
As well as looking through these free resources, you can also get ideas elsewhere which tell you they are "in-demand" and that people want to know more about. Writing about what people want to know about is the smartest thing you can do.
1. Amazon.com
Go to Amazon.com and to the Books section. Search for your keywords and you will see a list of books that are ranked in order of popularity. Read the descriptions of the books and find out why they're popular. People buy the books for a reason. Concentrate on writing articles for topics that are "hot".
2. Clickbank.com
Go to Clickbank and visit the MarketPlace section. http://www.clickbank.com/marketplace Go to the category which your niche is related to and look at the top products which are selling well. Again, these are products which are "in-demand" and people are interested in the information. Go to the sales page of these products and get ideas from them. Look at the bullet points and the features/benefits of their products and write about each one of them.
3. Forums.
Go to forums which are related to your niche and look for threads which have lots of recent replies to them. Find out and see if the post is about a certain topic in your niche which the community wants to know more about.
Using this system, you'll never have a shortage of what to write about. If there's something new with your niche that you don't know about then read up on it and write an article in your own words on the new thing which you've learnt.
Now go through the list you've written on your notepad one by one and start writing your articles.
